AI visibility
Scores, mentions and citations
Know exactly what a visibility result can and cannot tell you.
Read the denominator
Visibility describes brand presence within the measured answers for a defined prompt set. Always review the number of successful answers, selected engines, market and collection time alongside a percentage.
Failed or unavailable responses are not evidence that the brand was absent. A small panel can vary significantly between runs.
Mentions versus citations
A mention is a detected reference to the configured brand in an answer. A citation is a source link returned with that answer. Review ambiguous names and aliases carefully, especially when the brand is also an ordinary word.
Any reported position belongs to the answer's detected ordering. It is not a Google organic ranking. Sentiment is an interpretation of answer context and should be reviewed with the underlying text.
Compare like with like
Keep prompts, market, language and measurement type consistent. Live consumer interfaces and direct model APIs can produce different answers, even within the same model family.
Changing providers or model settings creates a different measurement baseline. Do not interpret that change alone as growth or decline in brand visibility.
